It’s the little things in life that make a difference!

Ways to improve your salon marketing

Improve your Customer Service

Don’t Nickel and Dime your customer out the door – Many companies are terrible at this, they quote a price and then add all sorts of extra fees, taxes, etc. Instead of doing business like everybody else, think about what you can give your customers free of charge. Maybe you can hand out little samples of the hottest upcoming product or have a ‘tax free’ day once a  month. In what other ways can you add value to your clients visit? Remember, what goes around comes around and your customers will remember your good will.

Do something unexpected – While your clients browse through the latest hair magazines to look for a new hair style, offer them the best cup of coffee in town or how about the latest flavored designer water on a hot day. Invest in a Keurig and add some of the latest funky flavors, this is a fairly inexpensive way to wow your clients and have them coming back for more. What other ways can you think of that will surprise your clients? Doing something unexpected is fun and will stick in your clients minds.

Help your customers spread the good word – I recently heard of a restaurant that attached an iPad to their take out station. While the customers wait for their food, they are offered to play with the iPad for free, as well as asked to log into their Facebook account and ‘like’ the restaurant. In return they get a free appetizer, right then and there. How is that for great customer service? You could just set up a laptop or small computer station for your clients to ‘play’ on while they wait for their turn. What incentive can you give to your clients in exchange for linking your Facebook page or writing a review on Yelp or any of the other review website?

Great customer service has to be a joint effort, from the store owner down to the latest employee hired. If you’re all on the same page and treat your clients like the Kings and Queens that they are, you will stand out from the crowd and be rewarded with a clientele that will come back to your salon and/or spa over and over again.
